Design & Development

Design

We design with the intention that each piece will be worn often and kept for a long time. For us, sustainability begins with creating garments that are not single-use, but part of your everyday.
Our approach is grounded in simplicity with intention. Each detail is considered, not just for how it looks, but for how it functions over time. From adjustable features that allow for flexibility across different bodies, to small construction details that improve comfort and wearability, every element has a purpose.
We focus on versatility, creating pieces that move easily between moments and uses, rather than serving a single occasion. This reduces the need for excess and encourages fewer, better garments.
Durability is built in from the start. We consider how seams are finished, how fabrics will behave over time, and how garments will hold up to repeated wear and washing. The goal is not just to make something that looks good initially, but something that continues to perform.

Development

The development stage is often overlooked, yet it is one of the most important parts of how a garment is made.
At NUNE, we approach development with the same level of care as design. We use a process we’ve refined over time, centred around building accurate, well-considered patterns from the outset. This allows us to reduce unnecessary sampling and avoid the cycle of repeated revisions that often leads to excess waste.
Our approach is guided by Fit First Technology, a system grounded in precision, experience, and clear communication. Rather than relying on trial and error, we focus on getting it right early, through a deep understanding of fit, construction, and material behaviour.
This is a quieter part of the process, but an essential one. It is where intention becomes form, and where much of a garment’s impact is determined long before it is ever worn.
